Working Group for Shotcrete

Group Leader: prof. Ing. Matouš Hilar, M.Sc., Ph.D.; e-mail: hilar@3-g.cz

Deputy Group Leader: Ing. Václav Braun; e-mail: VBraun@subterra.cz

The working group mission:

1. Publications: The working group gathers and publishes information about sprayed concrete.
2. Cooperation with WG12: The working group cooperates with the international WG12 (Shotcrete Use) under ITA.
3. Appropriate shotcrete usage: The working group prepares brief shotcrete characteristics with case studies for its common and economic usage in tunnelling industry (definition of usage method by clients, consultants and constructors).
4. Shotcrete development: The working group collects and spread information about shotcrete development (development of materials, new methods, unusual usage, atc.). This activity is mainly focused on shotcrete with steel or polypropylene fibres, final shotcrete linings (signle pass lining or secondary shotcrete linings), sprayed membranes usage and lining watertightness assurance, etc. The group has an interest to promote new trends with positive impact on cost and quality of final structures.
5. Qualification development of workers: The working group has an interest on professional development of workers. The main aim in this direction is propagation and realisation of nozzlemen certification. The purpose is to guarantee sprayed concrete lining quality, to be able to use shotcrete for permanent structures.
