TECHNICAL DATA:

The Hřebeč car tunnel is part of the by-pass of the road No. I/35 in the district of Svitavy. It is the first driven tunnel of the highway type in the Czech Republic. It has three lanes - 3 x 3.65 meters with an additional lane for slower vehicles. The total length is 357 meters, of which 298 meters are driven. The driven profile is 151-160 square meters, the hanging layer is 5.5-17 meters thick.

The road tunnel was driven with the new Austrian tunnelling method. The tunnel lining is double-coated with an intermediate insulation. The primary lining is made of shot concrete with steel grids, compartment steel frames and with hydraulic roof bolt. The final lining is made of monolithic armoured concrete. The tunnel construction also includes additional projects - airing, lighting, drainage, communication lines, operating set and the central control system.
